Wentworth Woodhouse Residency

In Exhibition News by Alun Kirby

Wentworth Woodhouse is without doubt, one of the finest and grandest Georgian houses in England and at 606 ft, is famously considered to have the longest facade.”

I am extremely excited to have won the opportunity to work as the first Artist-in-Residence for Wentworth Woodhouse.
Over the course of the residency I will be creating large-scale outdoor sculptural installations sited at four follies around the gardens (see images below), and documenting the gardens in visual works.
The residency will examine the living memory of this place, and its connection with the local community to the current day.
The residency will also include significant outreach activities, including workshops, artist’s tours and talks.
