The River of Heraclitus
Heraclitus said we cannot step in the same river twice, not only because the river changes, but because we also constantly change. Central to the ‘self’ which flows on are memories, subjectively interpreted experiences of our previous selves.
This longitudinal portrait, covering 45 years, shows this transformative flow. The person we are today is the result a myriad of metamorphoses, the memories of which are the basis of the person we shall become tomorrow.
