Pattern & Chaos
Academic design book, in which is included my chapter 'The Metamorphogram: Pattern as Memory of Experience'.
I am thrilled that my work on the metamorphogram was recognised with inclusion in this excellent book. The chapter emphasizes the development of the metamorphogram as a recording of memory, and of the influence of quasi-random aspects of the process inthis respect.
This work complements the philosophical work I have also published, establishing the metamorphogram process as a photographic technique which, unlike traditional photography, fits the definition of a memory.
The work has as its basis the origami crane, the uniqueness within individuals, and the potential for social connection that arises from shared memories.
Below are more images made using this process.
